Learning & Development at Bosch UK

Continuing professional development

The world around us is constantly changing. To thrive in our careers and contribute meaningfully to our teams, we must embrace a mindset of continuous learning. Meet some of our Bosch associates who are making the most of the learning programmes and flexibility at Bosch. Thanks to the efforts of our L&D teams worldwide, our associates have access to some of the best courses and learning experiences out there.

Kedarnath Raxa – fulfilling a long-held goal.

Kedarnath Raxa – fulfilling a long-held goal.

Initially planning to complete a master’s degree soon after graduation, Kedar postponed his studies when he began his career with Bosch. Years later, with Bosch’s support, he embraced the chance to pursue his MSc, focusing on advancing EV technology knowledge essential to his role as a diagnostic development engineer.

Working with electric vehicles like the Jaguar I-Pace highlighted the differences in new systems, from e-machines to advanced control engineering. Alongside his MSc, he earned a CMI Level 7 certification in strategic management, broadening his leadership skills.

Balancing work, studies, and family, Kedar organised his time carefully, breaking down tasks and relying on support from his managers to stay on track. This experience has enriched his expertise and given him confidence for future roles, possibly in EV program management. He’s found that at Bosch, open communication with managers and colleagues makes challenging goals achievable.

Betty Nagy-Czirok– rediscovering learning.

After entering the workforce straight from school, Betty joined Bosch in 2016, bringing her customer service skills to the automotive industry, where her passion truly lay. With Bosch’s encouragement, she later pursued a master’s in Engineering Project Management, a field that finally resonated with her. “I struggled with traditional study, but this program was flexible and felt like it was on my terms,” she says, finding motivation in learning something that genuinely aligned with her interests.

During her studies, Betty developed a keen interest in agile methodologies, particularly the cultural and communication challenges of agile transformations. Her thesis explored these dynamics, giving her a fresh perspective on leadership and business change.

On November 4th, Betty will step into a new role in Learning and Development (L&D), partnering with Bosch’s PT division. In addition to managing wellness projects, she’s looking forward to supporting others’ growth. “Helping others develop, as I did, is deeply fulfilling,” she says, eager to apply her skills to inspire and support her colleagues’ journeys.

Ali Lokhandwala – advancing leadership through learning.

Ali Lokhandwala – advancing leadership through learning.

With a desire to refresh his project management skills and embrace agile practices, Ali pursued the PMP certification, eight years after earning his PRINCE2 qualification. “Agile methods are becoming increasingly vital in the mobility sector,” Ali explains. “The PMP helped me move beyond traditional waterfall approaches, equipping me to better meet the needs of modern projects and Bosch Mobility’s success.”

One of the most valuable aspects of the certification was learning to streamline project management processes across industries. These insights allowed Ali to tailor Bosch's processes for greater efficiency. “It also connected me with a global PMP community, broadening my network beyond the automotive sector and deepening my understanding of diverse project management perspectives,” he shares.

Balancing family life and study commitments was a key challenge for Ali, but the rewards were worth it. The experience has inspired him to pursue Bosch's RK-PMQ certification, which prepares managers to handle high-value projects. “Make every day a learning opportunity,” Ali advises. “The skills and knowledge you gain will transform not only your work but your perspective on personal challenges as well.”

Rhys Smith – striving for personal and professional growth.

Becoming the first in his immediate family to earn a degree, Rhys Smith embarked on a chartered management degree apprenticeship to continue his personal development. “This journey is challenging me to be the best I can while making tangible progress on both short- and long-term goals,” he shares.

One of the most rewarding aspects has been incorporating elements of the apprenticeship into his daily work, turning learning into practical improvements. Balancing his workload, studies, and training for his first marathon in April 2025 has been demanding, but Rhys credits the support of family and colleagues for keeping him motivated.

Richard Rowley – expanding horizons in HR

Richard Rowley – expanding horizons in HR

In 2020, Richard Rowley transitioned from a Team Leader role in Manufacturing to the HR department, motivated to deepen his understanding of HR topics. To support his professional growth, he pursued a Level 3 CIPD qualification. “I wanted to expand my knowledge and awareness to thrive in my new position and better support the team,” he explains.

The learning experience allowed Richard to put theory into practice, offering fresh perspectives and enabling him to contribute more effectively to the department and its customers. “It gave me the opportunity to support on topics I wouldn’t normally have been involved in,” he reflects.

Completing the CIPD qualification has inspired Richard to explore further development opportunities. His advice to others? “Take ownership of your growth. Discuss your aspirations with your manager so you can get the support needed to achieve your goals.”
