Bosch opens new £1.5m automotive training centre in Doncaster

• New centre signals confidence in the North of England as a hub for automotive excellence
• Training centre will provide training for apprentices and technicians
• Official opening by The Rt Hon Dame Rosie Winterton MP, Member of Parliament for Doncaster Central

Bosch has today opened a brand new, £1.5 million, purpose-built training centre for the delivery of automotive apprenticeship programmes and technical training. The centre in Doncaster was officially opened by The Rt Hon Dame Rosie Winterton MP.

The 36,846 square foot facility includes ten workshop areas and 12 classrooms providing training to around 300 apprentices throughout 2018, for Bosch’s partners Renault, Nissan and Suzuki. It is expected that each year over 100 automotive apprentices will qualify through the centre. In addition, the centre will host technical training courses and programmes for qualified technicians on the latest technologies, as well as hold specialised sales and commercial training.

Vehicle technology is at the heart of Bosch, with mobility solutions and automotive sales comprising 60% of the global business. This investment reflects Bosch’s confidence in the UK as an important global hub for the automotive industry. In particular, the North of England remains a key location for Bosch as it continues to develop a highly skilled technical workforce in the UK.
