Interview with Katherine Prince

Katherine at Bosch Rexroth

My name is Katie Prince, I am currently studying a Masters in Digital Marketing at Nottingham Trent University, and previously did my bachelors in Business Management with Marketing at University of Birmingham. At present I am completing my Marketing Internship at Bosch Rexroth.

How did you learn about Bosch?

Office work - Katherine Price

Bosch being a household name, I was well aware of the company and had some knowledge that they offered a number of different intern opportunities. When I came to look at the Bosch careers site, I was surprised and intrigued by how many divisions Bosch had, and how many different opportunities were available. I spotted the role at Bosch Rexroth and was interested by the business area, as well as the diversity of the role and the ability to get involved in many different areas of marketing. I chose Bosch as an employer because it was clear that interns were an important and valued part of the company, providing a lot of training and development opportunities to help you succeed.

Katie's expectations on her internship and the best part of it:

Going into an internship with little previous experience, I was unsure what to expect. However, I anticipated that I would gain hands on experience, transferable skills and mentoring to help me develop the skills and attributes I needed to succeed within the role. From my first day at Bosch Rexroth my expectations were exceeded, my team and other colleagues were extremely welcoming, supportive and keen to help me learn. I have been given support in all my activities but have also been given responsibility for projects, and the ability to focus on my key interests and areas in which I was keen to explore and learn more about, such as digital marketing.

It is difficult to pick just one aspect of my Internship that has been the best part, but I think the opportunities it has provided me, in terms of increasing my network and skills, and being given the freedom to develop on areas that are important to me personally are key reasons why my internship has been so enjoyable and valuable. Alongside the main department tasks and campaigns, I have been allowed to complete my own project around digital marketing, allowing me to develop further my skills in this area that I am keen to pursue in the future, with assistance and guidance from my team, and our external agencies.

"My time at Bosch Rexroth has enabled me to gain a number of transferable skills, including communication and adaptability, particularly when working with new people or teams, and prioritising and managing my workload, giving me the ability to work on a number of tasks at the same time whilst sticking to deadlines."

Katie's advice to the future interns:

"Enjoy your time at Bosch and take everything in! Take advantage of all the opportunities available to you and get involved where you can to make the most of your year and learn as much as you can!"
