As part of a multi-national company, the Bosch Rexroth UK Systems & Engineering Team supply a wide variety of Industrial Electro-Hydraulic Drive and Control Solutions in to the market place. Key to our success has been the ability to integrate our diverse component portfolio into operable circuit designs bringing precision movement and the control of forces to our client’s machines and structures. From a small 20L power unit installed in a Machine Tool application up to full containerised systems operating large cylinders in the Marine and Offshore industry, the scope is large and varied.
We are looking to strengthen our existing Engineering IT capabilities with a 2 year IT –and engineering oriented graduate.
This is a unique and key role and as such demonstrable experience and interest are more important than a specific degree discipline
Your responsibilities may include:fSupporting development and modification of bespoke engineering IT applications.
Ongoing development and upkeep of engineering database systems (MSAccess and SQL)
Maintenance of AutoCAD, CREO and Inventor.fProvision of second line support multi-site Engineering IT Support via helpdesk
Preparation of project documentation for input from the Systems Engineering Team (Component Specifications, Special Procedures, Inspection and Test Plans, Risk Assessments, O&M Manuals etc).
Providing technical support for other departments, including sales, service, purchasing etc.
Responsibility for ensuring that engineering servers are supported, backed-up and maintained.
Ongoing development and maintenance of the web-based Engineering Portal
Work station Build/ Installation and Configuration
Degree qualified, probably in IT or engineering but candidates from other disciplines will be considered if they can demonstrate suitable experience and interest outside of academia (practical training will be given).
Demonstrable interest in and experience of coding, building software applications
Keen to develop software development skills in an engineering context.
Enthusiastic about working within an engineering team.
Good attention to detail and analytical skills for solving a wide variety of engineering IT problems.
Ability to communicate at all levels within and outside the business.
Able to use own initiative, working both independently and part of a team
Willing to learn quickly and able to bring innovation to the team
Good command of the English language (spoken and written).
Computer literate with a strong MS Office skills
