The Developer is responsible for analysing diagnostic functionalities of OE propriety systems and tooling and in line with prevailing guidelines and procedures, reverse engineer this functionality for inclusion in the Bosch ESI platform.

Your contribution to something big

  • Reverse engineer the diagnostic functionalities of vehicles
  • Development of diagnostic data for ESI [tronic]
  • Test and verification of the specified and developed diagnostic content at the vehicle
  • Check of diagnostic coverage (vehicle field tests at workshops and car dealers)
  • Provision of advanced technical support for marketing, sales and training
  • Assume responsibility for nominated UK vehicle brand(s)
  • Take responsibility for all technical queries and issues from customers for nominated brands
  • Orientate output to ensure end user’s experience of Bosch diagnostic equipment is positive
  • From time to time, the jobholder will be required to travel within the UK and occasionally, attend training conducted at Bosch service headquarters in Germany
  • Working closely with the central data Engineering team based in Germany and locally with Sales and Marketing teams in AA/SEU UK
  • Correctly applying reverse engineering tooling and techniques

What distinguishes you

  • Extensive knowledge of automotive software engineering supported by a relevant and recognized qualification (e.g. automotive engineering degree)
  • Deep hands on experience with vehicle systems and fault diagnostics, in particular vehicle network systems (e.g. CAN, K-Line, DoIP) and communication protocols (e.g. KWP2000 & UDS)
  • Existing knowledge of reverse diagnostics engineering and is competent with authoring and specifying tools
  • A working knowledge of binary and hexadecimal numeral systems
  • Highly competent with MS – Office and a working knowledge of program flow charts
  • Preferably, experience and knowledge of specific VM product (e.g. JLR, BMW, Mercedes)
  • You will be process driven with high attention to detail
  • Strong communicational skills across all levels, both internally and externally
  • Have the confidence to contribute suggestions and criticisms (in order that systems and processes may be improved) and, do so in the full knowledge that such input is wanted and valued by the organisation
  • Work collaboratively across all areas of the AA/SEU business
  • Understand the goals and operating targets of the Division and the way in which this role contributes towards the success of AA/SEU
