Working within an integrated engineering team, focusing on our aluminium framing fast track and production cell business, you will be responsible for producing quotations and engineering systems for defined industry sectors that support the achievement of sales and profit targets and the provision of superior service, in a high quality, timely, cost-effective and resource-efficient way.
Using our wide variety of catalogue components you will produce general assembly and detail drawings of frame guards,conveyor systems and custom aluminium assemblies. You will be comfortable with talking and dealing with both internal and external customers both on site and at their premises. With a busy order schedule, you must be able to demonstrate the ability to work both independently and within the team, within tight deadlines and target budgets.
You will have a good understanding of business processes with an eye for making suggestions and improvements to aid in the department’s continuous improvement process. Knowledge of the use of ISO standards within an engineering based application is essential. A creative mind with good problem solving skills, an eye for detail, and an ability to transfer knowledge and support more junior members within the team is a must. An appreciation of SAP would be advantageous as this role will have the option to develop into the engineering SAP Key User for the department.
Ideally qualified with an HNC or higher, with proven industrial experience, in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Automotive Engineering. You will ideally be conversant with SolidWorks and Enterprise PDM with a high level of experience in 3D modelling of parts and complex assemblies. You will have a good understanding of manufacturing processes, DFM and an ability to produce both hand calculations and computational simulations to support your designs.
