  • Research finds 44% of Wales residents have returned home to double check their front door was locked, and 12% have been late for work as a result
  • 13% regularly forget to turn off the lights and 15% forget to turn off the heating
  • Almost 9 out of 10 people in the UK don’t know how to wash their clothes correctly, ruining an average of 10 items of clothing per year
  • The Smart Living Tour won Silver in ‘Best in Show’ for a non-agricultural stand at the Royal Bath and West Show

Bosch experts will be on hand to share some of the best tips and tricks at the Bosch Smart Living tour, which will be travelling the nation this summer, bringing consumers the best solutions and ideas for a smarter way of living. The Tour will be at the Royal Welsh Show on 24th to 27th July.

The Smart Living Tour has been created to demonstrate how smart, connected and innovative technology can quickly and easily bring benefits to day-to-day life. Connected living was once thought of as only for the early adopters, but can make a huge impact on the busy lives of the everyday person, alleviating worries and saving time. The Tour will be showcasing some of the benefits technology and innovative products and solutions can bring, and will also be asking visitors to demonstrate their own ‘lifehacks’ to win a selection of Bosch products including a i-DOS washing machine, Home and Garden power tools, a Worcester Wave, and Smart Home products.

Recent research by Bosch UK looking into how technology can improve lives and alleviate concerns found that worrying about home safety is high on the agenda for Wales residents; 43% are most worried they have left their front door open and 23% are worried about having left the windows open when away from the house. This feeling extends to appliances, as the research found that 25% worry about having left the cooker hob, 12% think about having left their straighteners on and15% the iron. However, despite the benefits smart technology could bring to reduce these worries, only 22% would consider buying a smart device to alleviate their concerns.

In addition to revealing some of the top tips and tricks, the Smart Living Tour will showcase how Bosch products can help us to complete everyday tasks more efficiently, easily, and safely. The products on display will be from across the Bosch range and will include:

  • Bosch connected home appliances – including ovens, hobs, fridges, washing machines, dishwashers and coffee machines
  • Award winning Worcester Bosch boilers and connected controls technology, as well as a beautifully crafted traditional and contemporary Greenstyle Stove
  • Bosch DIY Home and Garden tools – including the Indego robotic lawnmower mower and measuring tools
  • The new Bosch powered eBike
  • Smart Home products such as the 360°-Indoor Camera and Smart Plug

Whilst visitors are learning about the latest lifehacks, there will also be videos highlighting the range of sectors Bosch is involved in, from automated driving, to industrial technology, and more. There will also be plenty of activities to keep children of all ages entertained.

Steffen Hoffmann, President of Bosch UK said:

“We’re here to demonstrate that smart living technology is for everyone. We are really looking forward to people visiting the show and seeing how simple tips and tricks can bring great savings in both time and worry.

“Bosch is the only technology provider to connect everything from your kitchen to your heating and security, so whether it’s using the external camera to enter the house, your phone to control the heating or your lawn mower, or the indoor camera to check on your pet, Bosch technology can help.”
