Bosch KTS 670 sets the benchmark in vehicle diagnostics
Bosch has today announced the introduction of the KTS 670 multi-media diagnostic test system, confirming the company’s leading position in engine diagnostics equipment and software.
The KTS 670 replaces the popular and well-established KTS 650 and 651 models used extensively by vehicle workshops, and which have set the standard in the industry. The new model incorporates the latest technological advances in an instrument that is practical and easy to use, and durable enough to cope with the rigours of the workshop environment.
Key features of the KTS 670 include:
- Multi-media compatibility
- Solid housing making it suitable for the harsh workshop environment
- New ‘Easy-Connect’ adapter, providing greater flexibility
- Windows XP operating system
- 40 GB hard drive
- 12.1 inch TFT touch screen with bright, clear display
The unit supports all current diagnostics protocols, including ISO, flashing code, SAE and CAN. It has a built-in multiplexer for K and CAN protocols and an integrated exchange adapter that can easily be replaced.
The oscilloscope module from the KTS 570 is now included in the KTS 670. This dual-channel oscilloscope allows simultaneous evaluation of two components. Channel 1 of the oscilloscope can be operated at the same time as the control unit diagnostics, allowing the user to see the signal from the components and the associated actual value at a glance.
Graph signals can be saved to provide documentation of the diagnosis, and the larger X measuring range has a higher sampling rate. This, along with improved bandwidth and input resistance and enhanced pre-trigger setting time, leads to better signal evaluation.
New adapter technology has also been introduced. The six-way universal lead is replaced by the UNI-4 adapter lead from the KTS 5 series. A newly-designed U-box 2 is built in to the KTS 670.
The KTS 670 comes in a robust case which also houses the principal components and accessories. These include the system tester, ESI(tronic) DVD and drive, all connecting and measuring cables, the power supply and line connector, and the operating instructions.
