Industrial Engineering Intern (6 months to start August 2008)
Reporting to the Industrial Engineering Manager the purpose of the role will be to provide Engineering Support to Manufacturing Operations.

Role responsibilities:
- Conducting method studies
- Estimating new product labour time and maintaining the labour time within the computer system
- Project management
- Providing product and process support to Manufacturing
- Continually review opportunities for improved “Productivity” – proactively pursuing “Best Practice” in working methods
- Investigating problems with the performance of processes or machines
- Training new workers in techniques required to operate machines
- Ergonomic workplace design
- Standardisation
- Line balancing
- Introduction of Point and System CIP, Chaka Chaka and Chase Systems
The Person:
- Computer literate with a good knowledge of the Microsoft packages including Word, Excel & Outlook
- Results orientated
- Ability to influence and communicate confidently with personnel from all levels of the business
- Able to use own initiative with the ability to work on their own as well as part of a team
- Flexibility of approach towards working hours
- Good administrative and organisational skills
