New Build Specification Manager – Northern

Position to cover the following postcodes :

The overall purpose of the job is to secure new build specification for Worcester Bosch products within the designated area. In order to achieve this it is necessary to work with colleagues covering oil and gas products as well as renewables to ensure a total product face towards the customer base.

Our extensive product range includes; gas-fired, oil-fired and LPG central heating boilers, heating controls as well as renewable energy technology – Greenskies solar water heating and Greenstore ground source heat pumps. The extensive Greenstar range of SEDBUK A rated condensing gas and oil-fired boilers are available in system, regular and combination models so whatever your heating and hot water requirements, Worcester has the solution.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Identify all new build opportunities and implement, with your manager, a strategy to develop the business.
  • Identify all major contractors involved with new build.
  • To achieve agreed sales targets.
  • To attain a predetermined call ratio as set by your manager.
  • To increase our share of business through the specification sector.
  • Build relationships with a variety of customers:

Merchant estimators (estimating Departments)

Major contractors

Major house builders

Specifiers

Local Authorities / Housing Associations

Registered Social Landlords (RSLs)

  • Ensure Sales Management System is fully utilised (including focal as appropriate).
  • Ensure operational area and activities are managed economically.
  • Communicate effectively with all team members and manager.
  • Support the Internal Contracts team with the tender process by obtaining prices and market intelligence.
  • Conduct factory tours when required.
  • Co-ordinate field based training to support contracts.
  • Utilise company promotional vehicles to potential clients.
  • Agree all personal training requirements with manager.

The Person:

You must be a motivated individual, comfortable with working on your own initiative. A track record of success in the heating industry is advantageous, but more importantly are well developed selling skills through effective communication, negotiation and presentation. Computer literacy is also required.
